Animals started to be unloaded into the Market Square at 6am with judging commencing at 10am. Judging was undertaken by Martin Grayshon for the cattle class, Richard Taylor for the sheep class and Richard Sharrat for the pig class. The awards were presented by David Bowman of Wigton Livestock Auction at 11:30am with trophies handed out in the Market Square. Many trophies were handed out but the champions of each class are listed below.

Champion Cattle - T A & C A Lyon

Following the awards, the auction of the pigs and sheep commenced. The champion pen of the sheep was sold for £280/hd to Richard Taylor of Owen Taylor Limited and the champion pig sold for £300 to Billy Burton of Deeping St Nicholas. Following the auction, the Market Square was cleaned and attention turned to the Falcon Hotel with 213 patrons sitting down to an exceptional lunch with a main course of roast beef.

This concluded a thoroughly enjoyable day and we look forward to being part of another successful show in 2025.
